Men's Basketball Geared Up to Start 22-23 Campaign
The Oxford College of Emory University men's basketball team is set to start a new season led by head coach Roderick Stubbs. He enters his 18th season at the helm of the Eagle's program with six returning veterans from last year's squad. This year, the Eagles have named sophomores KJ Walker, Sean Osei and Isaac Snyder team captains.
Sean Osei (Riverside, CA) started in 24 games last season and averaged 11.9 points per game and three assists per game. He has improved his all-around game and is looking forward to a fantastic season. Alongside him in the backcourt, KJ Walker (Honokaa, HI) started in 13 games and averaged 5.8 points per game and 3.5 assists per game. He is a prototypical point guard with excellent leadership skills. Isaac Snyder (Holland, MI) is also looking to have a breakout season with his inside and outside game. He averaged 5.8 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore Nick Hardin (Grant, AL) played in 21 games last season. He averaged 5.3 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting an impressive 44.7% from 3-point range.
Justin Whitening (Stone Mountain, GA) is also expected to be a solid contributor, as he averaged 5.2 and 2.6 rebounds per contest last season. Sophomore Jack Morgan (Clayton, NC) will look to have a more significant role this season being one of the six returning.
The Eagles have several newcomers that will be called into action. Ryan Kim, a freshman guard from Jericho, NY. Josh Kim, a freshman shooting guard from Glendale, CA. Zuri Greene, a freshman wing player from Carrollton, GA. Devin Shu, a freshman shooting guard from Taipei, Taiwan. Adam Said, a sophomore guard from Camel, IN. Lup Zhang, a sophomore guard from Sammamish, WA. Andrew Anton, a freshman point guard from Jacksonville, FL. Ethan Mo, a sophomore post player from San Marino, CA. Anthony Vargas, a freshman wing player from Woodlawn Park, NJ.
Oxford opens up with Georgia Highlands Reserve Squad on Tuesday, November 1st at 7:15 pm in Williams Gym.
