Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team easily defeated the visiting Community Christian College of Georgia 96-76 in the team's first home game of the season.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead before Community Christian College took over midway through the first half. Emory Oxford was never down by more than four points, and took the lead with about two minutes left on a 3-pointer from sophomore Leo Etah. The Eagles took a 42-34 lead into halftime and led for the rest of the game.
Sophomore Ved Desai had a career-high 30 points in the game, along with 12 rebounds and six assists. Etah scored 22, while sophomore Adeniyi Ogunlana had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Also scoring in double digits was sophomore Nicolas Yatros with 12 points. Sophomore Jason Kim had 10 assists in the game.
Emory Oxford is now 2-0 on the season. The team will face LaGrange College JV on the road on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.
