Men's basketball falls to Patrick & Henry CC 68-64 in Spruell Classic
Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team lost a close conference game at home against Patrick and Henry Community College 68-64 in the 14th annual Dennis Spruell Classic.
The Eagles played well in the first half, leading 29-12 midway through. Sophomores Nicolas Yatros and Leo Etah had three 3-pointers each. Oxford led 39-32 at the half.
In the second, the Eagles struggled to shoot, finding themselves down by 11 toward the end of the game. While they were able to come back to make the game close, the visiting team held on in the end.
Etah scored 11 straight points for Oxford in the second half. He led the Eagles in scoring with 22 points, including five 3-pointers. He also had seven rebounds and four assists. Yatros scored 13 points, while sophomore Alex Straser had 11. Sophomore Jason Kim had seven rebounds and five assists.
Oxford next plays against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College JV on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. at home.
