Pinehurst, NC - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team lost a close game 92-86 to conference rival Sandhills Community College on the road.
The Eagles started out the game playing well and held a 15-7 lead early in the half. The lead was short-lived, as Sandhills came back and had a 44-38 lead into the half.
Sandhills held the lead for the rest of the game, with Oxford coming back from a 13 point deficit midway through the second to finish the game being down by only six.
Sophomore Leo Etah led the Eagles with 23 points. He also had seven rebounds. Sophomore Jason Kim nearly had a triple-double, scoring 21 points and having 11 rebounds and nine assists. Classmate Adeniyi Ogunlana had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Eagles will next face West Academy at home on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
