Nam Nam Nai finishes ninth at nationals
Chautauqua, NY - First-year Nam Nam Nai finished in ninth place out of more than 80 golfers at the 2025 NJCAA DIII Men's Golf National Championship, held from June 3-6. The championship was held at Chautauqua Golf Club, a par-72, 6559-yard course in western New York.
Nai finished with a total score of 299 (79-76-76-68). His score of 68 tied him with two other golfers for lowest of the day in the final round and helped him jump from 17th place to ninth place.
Nai was named a Second Team All-American for his top ten finish. This was the second-best finish at nationals in program history, after Nick Paschetto was third in 2019. Nai is also the third All-American, after Paschetto and Ryan Huang in 2024.
"Golf is a tough game that requires a lot of mental toughness and focus," said Ariel Walsh, head coach of the golf team. "Nam Nam showed up each day with new goals, mental toughness, focus, and a great attitude, proving why he deserved to be there. Each day only got better with him finishing out strongly shooting under par in the final round. Both his coach and teammates are incredibly proud of him."
