Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's soccer team easily defeated visiting Andrew College 6-0 on Sophomore Night.
Sophomore Onemeh Erakpotobor started the scoring early for the Eagles after he scored a goal when the ball went above the goalie's head eight minutes into the game. Sophomore Brody Weinfurtner assisted on the goal.
Four minutes later, sophomore Denis Tahirovic scored right in front of the goal on a pass from first-year Zach Seneriz. First-year Ashton Graham scored with one minute left in the half to put the Eagles up 3-0. Erakpotobor assisted on the goal.
Emory Oxford scored three more times in the second half. Sophomore Nathaniel Green put the home team up by another goal ten minutes into the half. Weinfurtner assisted on the goal. First-year Neal Konganda, assisted by Erakpotobor, and Weinfurtner, assisted by sophomore Patrick Herrera, both scored in the last ten minutes of the game.
The Eagles had 23 shots during the game. Seneriz led Emory Oxford with five shots. Sophomore Chris Do and first-year Brendan Zelikoff did not face any shots during the game. The team finished the regular season with a record of 4-8-3.
Emory Oxford will face Pellissippi State on the road in the GCAA semifinals at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
