Cross Country Teams Ranked Nationally; Women Claim Top Spot
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released their week two rankings and both the Emory Oxford men's and women's cross country teams were ranked in the top 10. The women previously ranked second, moved up to the top spot and are now ranked as the number 1 team in the nation. The men's team jumped into the top 10 at nine after not being ranked in the first poll.
This is the first time in school history that the women's cross country team claimed the No. 1 spot in the national coaches poll. They recently finished in 4th-place at the Coach Gary Wilson Invitational and 5th at the Asics Invitational, where four-year schools finished ahead of them.
Both teams will compete in the Willie Laster Invitationals in Albany, GA, this Saturday, October 5th.
