Sophomore Ryan Scholte led the Emory Oxford men's soccer team to a 5-0 victory after recording his first hat trick. The Eagles improve to 4-2-1 for the season and have won their second straight game.
Scholte's hat trick comes after nearly having one in his previous game against the Georgia Military College Reserve Team. He now leads the Eagles with 12 goals for the season, tied for third-most in the nation.
In the first half, the Eagles open things up with a goal from Scholte in the 11th minute with an assist from freshman Will Farthing. The Eagles would score again in the 28th minute when sophomore Carl Kassabian finds Scholte, who nets his second of the game. The Eagles would take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Early in the second half, Scholte records his hat trick with a goal in the 48th minute, assisted by classmate Ashwin Giri. The Eagles continue on the attack scoring two more goals in the 71st and 82nd minutes. Freshman Jisung Yoon recorded his fourth goal of the season with the help of Kassabian. Sophomore Gyul Kim scores his first goal of the year with an assist from Giri.
